Padre João Miguel Mohana Municipal School (UEB) in São Luís, Maranhão.

In 2025, Nova Escola entered a new era of expanded impact, leveraging scalable technology solutions and strategic partnerships. Core support for public school teachers remained central to its mission, which focused on foundational literacy, educational equity, and strengthening pedagogical practices across elementary education.

The primary achievement of the year was the rapid adoption of the WhatsApp-based lesson planner, which launched nationwide in February 2025. The tool engaged 117,000 educators and generated some 410,000 customized lesson plans fully mapped to National Common Curricular Base (BNCC) standards and context-adapted for local classroom needs. Among active users, 98% reported substantial time savings during pedagogical planning.

Building on the national version, Nova Escola developed a localized adaptation of the planner capable of ingesting municipal curricula and tailoring plans to local needs. In 2025, this solution was rolled out in São Luís, Maranhão, focusing on Mathematics for teachers across all elementary grades, establishing a blueprint for future regional expansion.

Another major milestone was the 10th anniversary of the Conectando Saberes teacher network, which spearheaded a project linking artificial intelligence (AI) to climate change. Six educators representing Brazil’s five macro-regions had their projects selected to showcase at COP30, positioning teacher leadership at the center of the global climate agenda.

At the ecosystem level, Nova Escola elevated its international standing, entering global policy networks and participating in international summits on education, artificial intelligence, and climate change, while attracting new international capital to fund high-impact social solutions. In 2025, the organization reached nearly 900,000 registered educators, averaging 1.5 million monthly portal visits, reinforcing its capacity to scale and provide continuous support to public school educators.

São Luís (Maranhão state)

The WhatsApp-based Regional Lesson Planner supports Mathematics teachers across the São Luís municipal education network with pedagogical planning, by generating context-aware lesson plans mapped to municipal standards and the National Common Curricular Base (BNCC). Tailored to the local educational context, the platform combines technology, curriculum alignment, and regional context to make lesson planning more agile, reliable, and ready for classroom execution. Localization was achieved by integrating municipal curriculum benchmarks, the city’s rich historical and cultural heritage, and district guidelines.

“Our goal of delivering high-quality, meaningful education for our students is a shared mission. So a tool that lightens administrative burden, supports teachers in their daily prep, optimizes their time, expands their pedagogical repertoire, and sparks creativity is something we must fully embrace. Ultimately, our vision is to promote purposeful innovation across our municipal education network with student learning at its core.”
