Bridges to Change
Bridges to Change in São Paulo (SP).From September 9 to 11, 2025, Lemann Foundation and the Central Square Foundation (CSF) held Bridges to Change in São Paulo, a gathering focused on exchanging experiences between Brazil and India on how to promote sustainable improvements in public education at scale and with equity. The initiative brought together philanthropy leaders, experts, and organizations from both countries to discuss shared challenges and strengthen pathways for collaboration across the Global South.
Over three days, the event engaged leaders from over 20 organizations in high-level exchanges across three core pillars: foundational learning, such as literacy and numeracy; the use of digital infrastructure and technology to support learning, including data and monitoring; and systemic transformation, with a focus on implementation, outcome measurement, and leadership development.
Among the key insights was the pivotal role of incremental improvements which, when scaled across large public systems, yield compound gains over time. The exchange also underscored that technology is not a standalone solution; it adds value when integrated with pedagogical practice and datainformed management.
