Dignity Fund

In partnership with Gerando Falcões, the Lemann Foundation supported the launch of the Dignity Fund (Fundo Dignidade), a ten-year strategic initiative designed to secure Gerando Falcões’ institutional sustainability and to help scale its proven poverty-alleviation models. The fund’s overarching mission is to transform the lives of 1 million residents in Brazil’s favelas over a decade.

In 2025, the fund’s governance was fully consolidated through the creation of the Association of Supporters of Instituto Gerando Falcões (AAIGF), a dedicated legal entity established to oversee fund management and coordinate major donors. The AAIGF operates under an independent governance framework comprising a Board of Directors, a Fiscal Council, and robust financial, accounting, and legal compliance mechanisms. While Gerando Falcões directs strategic execution on the ground, accountability is ensured through executive reporting to the Board, on which the Lemann Foundation serves.

Additionally, the Dignity Fund structured and operationalized a strategic matching fund mechanism, further promoting co-investment models and unlocking new resources from strategic donors.
