National Strategy for Connected Schools
The school-connectivity agenda gained scale in Brazil with the creation of the National Strategy for Connected Schools (ENEC), launched in 2023 by the federal government with the goal of connecting every public school in the country by 2026. The initiative provides for investments of R$ 8.8 billion and coordination among public and private stakeholders to expand access to high-speed internet across public school networks.
As a primary civil society partner under the Connected Schools agenda, MegaEdu advanced this strategy through data generation, technical benchmarking, advocacy, and direct support for public school networks. Throughout 2025, MegaEdu supported ENEC monitoring, connectivity procurement workflows, and the creation of indicators to measure the pedagogical use of technology.
These efforts have accelerated connectivity across public education, bringing adequate-speed internet to 96,000 schools to date and establishing essential infrastructure for digital learning and instruction.
