The Chevening-Lemann partnership was created to expand Brazilians’ access to graduate programs at leading universities in the United Kingdom, combining full scholarship funding with a commitment to developing leaders focused on the country’s development. It supports talent with the potential to make an impact in strategic areas such as public policy, innovation, technology, law, and public management..

In 2025, the partnership supported seven new scholarship recipients, bringing the total to 28 Brazilian fellows, and further strengthened its alumni community and the monitoring of professional trajectories. Beyond scholarship funding, recipients gain access to leadership networks in Brazil and abroad, unlocking opportunities for cross-border collaboration and knowledge transfer.

The initiative also stands out for progress in diversity and representation, with women making up the majority of scholarship recipients, significant representation of Afro-Brazilian people, and regional diversity among participants. Fellows pursue degrees at leading institutions, including Oxford, Cambridge, LSE, UCL, and Imperial College London, expanding access for Brazilian talent to global centers of academic excellence.

“The partnership between the Chevening Scholarship Programme and the Lemann Foundation is remarkably powerful. It combines Chevening’s ability to identify and select exceptional talent from across Brazil, with strong representation of Afro-Brazilian leaders, with a transformative study experience in the UK and access to a global network. What truly sets the Lemann Foundation apart is its continuous support for these fellows throughout their journey, ensuring they maximize the experience while actively strengthening a community committed to driving real impact in Brazil.”
