Lemann Fellowship

Lemann Fellow Day 2025.

Established in the early 2000s, the Lemann Fellowship stands as the Lemann Foundation’s signature higher education initiative, empowering visionary Brazilian leaders through access to world-leading academic institutions. The fellowship awards funding to outstanding candidates accepted into top-tier global universities, focused on strategic disciplines critical to the development of Brazil.

In 2025, the program awarded 49 new scholarships across undergraduate, graduate, and research programs while promoting global alumni network connectivity through gatherings and student-led initiatives like Brasil on Campus. Fellowships are offered at world-renowned partner institutions, including Harvard, Stanford, Columbia, MIT, Oxford, and the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, in close coordination between Lemann Centers and academic departments.

To date, the program has supported 873 fellows, establishing itself as a vital gateway for academic and professional journeys connected to Brazil, expanding leadership development and the exchange of knowledge.

“Being part of this network is important to my career because it connects me with individuals who care deeply about Brazil and are likewise driven to advance social and economic transformation.”
